USAGM expands Russian-language programming to Europe

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the growing need for reliable Russian-language news and information in Central and Eastern Europe, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) announced it is expanding its satellite distribution of Current Time TV.

The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), known until 2018 as the Broadcasting Board of Governors(BBG), is an “independent” agency of the United States government that broadcasts news and information. It is considered an arm of U.S. diplomacy [soft power].
